What Is a DBSS Flat?
Introduced in 2005, DBSS allowed private developers to design, build and sell public housing, giving buyers more choice in layouts and finishes. The flats remain subject to HDB ownership and resale rules. The government announced a halt to new DBSS land sales in 2011 following concerns about high launch prices. Only 13 developments were launched under the scheme, the last being Pasir Ris One in 2012.
